Airtel Money filed for a London Stock Exchange IPO targeting at least USD 800 million in proceeds. The fintech operates across 13 African markets and could command a USD 8 billion to USD 9 billion valuation.

The proposed listing will sell existing shares, giving global investors direct exposure to Airtel Money’s African financial services business. The company plans to use the London market to support its next growth phase across fast-changing digital finance markets.

Airtel Money chief executive Ian Ferrao said, “A London listing will underpin our next wave of growth.” Ferrao highlighted strong demographic and digital trends across the markets served by the platform.

He also said the business remains debt-free, capital-light and highly cash-generative. The structure means Airtel Money itself will not receive fresh capital from the IPO

Airtel Money recorded 53 million monthly active users as of June 30, 2026. Its total processed payment value reached USD 213 billion during the year ended June 2026.

Revenue reached USD 1.3 billion for the same period, while the EBITDA margin stood near 50%. The platform supports money transfers, merchant payments, bill payments, remittances, and other digital financial services.

The planned fundraising marks a sharp reduction from earlier expectations of USD 1.5 billion to USD 2 billion. Investor feedback reportedly influenced the lower fundraising target and changed expectations around the proposed valuation.

The company expects to publish its prospectus with the indicative price range in early October. A final offer size and pricing will depend on market conditions and investor demand.

Airtel Africa currently holds 77.85% of Airtel Money, while other investors hold minority stakes. Existing shareholders will sell shares through the offer, while Airtel Africa remains a strategic shareholder.

The listing could establish a separate market valuation for one of Africa’s largest mobile money platforms. It also gives London investors access to Africa’s expanding digital payments and financial inclusion market.
