Despite small-cap and mid-cap stocks heavily steering the market upwards, top stocks performances showed mixed performances, with IT companies recording losses for the day.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)
The IT titan Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) experienced a challenging day, with its shares declining 1.22% to close at Rs 3,853. The stock traded within a range of Rs 3,830.00 to Rs 3,920.00, well below its 52-week high of Rs 4,254.75. TCS, which has a market capitalization of Rs 13.93 trillion, saw an average trading volume of 1.96 million shares.
Infosys
Another IT major also saw its share price dip, closing 0.62% lower at Rs 1,444. The stock traded within a range of Rs 1,439.25 to Rs 1,457.00, significantly lower than its 52-week high of Rs 1,733.00. Infosys boasts a market capitalization of Rs 5.98 trillion and an average trading volume of 7.50 million shares.
Hindustan Unilever (HUL)

A public sector undertaking closed 0.54% higher at Rs 544. The stock traded within a range of Rs 539.30 to Rs 547.65, well below its 52-week high of Rs 567.15. REC Limited has a market capitalization of Rs 1.43 trillion and an average trading volume of 19.89 million shares.
Overall, the Indian stock market exhibited a mixed performance. IT stocks faced selling pressure, while select heavyweights, including Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank, supported the indices.
