Indian stock markets reached fresh highs today with Sensex crossing the 80,000 mark for the first time before settling at 79,881.81 at the time of writing,  up 0.55% or 440.36 pts. The Nifty 50 also crossed above 24,300 before retracing to record 24,263.70 at the time of writing which is a gain of 0.58% or 139.85 pts.

Both indices set new intraday records with the Sensex touching 80,074.30 and the Nifty 50 reaching 24,307.25. The trading range so far for the day for Sensex is 79,754.95 low to 80,074.30 high while the Nifty 50 has moved between 24,207.10 low to 24,307.25 high.

Tata Consultancy Services lead the gains opening at 1,114.00 and reaching a high of 1,141.55 before settling at a Last Traded Price (LTP) of 1,139.60. This represents a 3.13% increase from the previous close of 1,105.00 as of writing today in early trading hours.

HDFC Bank also shows a strong performance by  opening at 1,791.00 and hitting a high of 1,794.00. The stock LTP is 1,783.20 which is up 3.04% from yesterday’s close of 1,730.60.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories sees a positive movement also by starting at 6,374.00 and climbing to 6,512.65 before settling at 6,498.55. This marks a 2.01% rise from the previous close of 6,370.25

Kotak Mahindra Bank opened at 1,765.80 and reached a high of 1,805.00. The stock LTP of 1,802.90 represents a 1.88% increase from yesterday’s close of 1,769.60

Axis Bank began trading at 1,260.00 and hit a high of 1,283.75. Its LTP of 1,274.20 shows a 1.66% gain from the last close of 1,253.40

Shriram Finance opened at 2,840.00 peaked at 2,885.00. The stock’s LTP of 2,871.20 indicates a 1.64% rise from yesterday’s closing price of 2,824.90

HDFC Life Insurance started the day at 592.40 and reached a high of 598.00. Its LTP of 596.45 reflects a 1.13% increase from the previous close of 589.80

Wipro opened at 541.90 and touched a high of 545.45. The stock’s LTP of 543.75 shows a 1.03% gain from the last close of 538.20

Eicher Motors began trading at 4,643.65 and hit a high of 4,703.75. Its LTP of 4,672.65 represents a 1.01% increase from yesterday’s closing price of 4,625.75

ICICI Bank opened at 1,196.85 and reached a high of 1,215.85. The stock’s LTP of 1,202.60 indicates a 1.01% rise from the previous close of 1,190.60
