Apple Prevails Against Consumers' Antitrust Case on Crypto-Payments

A federal court in San Francisco dismissed a consumer complaint accusing Apple of increasing prices on platforms like Venmo and Cash App

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria ruled on Tuesday, opening a new tab, that the proposed class action is "speculative" and "suffers from several fatal problems."

The November 2023 complaint claimed that Apple was restricting Bitcoin technology in its popular App Store, reducing competition for peer-to-peer payments.

It has increased prices for cash and credit card transactions at PayPal's Venmo and Block's Cash App. According to the report, Apple has rejected at least two Bitcoin wallet apps

On Tuesday, Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment. The corporation has denied all wrongdoing.
