There is constant filming in Downtown Brooklyn. Whether it is movies or television shows, you can almost guarantee that something is happening somewhere. But is it cool or just a nuisance?

Driving to school and see this sign? You are about to spend quite a while looking for a spot.

If you are a visitor to New York the thought of seeing one of your favorite shows being filmed is beyond exciting.

The crew, the actors, and everything that goes along with the thrill of making the episode or just capturing a scene is new to you.

After living in New York for a while however one seems to grow bored of the same routine.

It causes such a hassle and adds so much unwanted stress to everyday activities.

The parking in Downtown Brooklyn is a nightmare on a regular basis. Add to that the closing of streets upon streets and you have a major dilemma.

Residents of the Downtown Brooklyn area are growing tired of the filming. One Brooklyn Heights resident claims “It is terrible. You can never find parking. All the streets are blocked off, and it winds-up taking hours to get to work.”

It doesn’t seem all that fair that students have to search for an hour for a parking spot and the film’s crew can take up the entire street. It is absolutely no fun to drive to school with all these signs telling you where you cannot park.

To others, however, the filming is fun. Some aren’t bothered or affected by the traffic and think that it is cool to b able to see where actual scenes are being filmed. People travel from all over to see their favorite television show, so to have it in their “own backyard” is exciting to some.

Christine Rodriguez, a St. Francis student, thinks that the filming is cool, but claims "it's really annoying for anyone who has to find a parking spot."

Andrew Ponesse from Staten Island and a Freshman at St. Francis believes "It's really cool when a television show films outside or in the school. It makes the school a film set too."

So is filming annoying or amazing? Well, it depends on your personality and personal opinion. If you aren’t on time for class and are looking for somewhere to park your car then you probably aren’t going to like the filming too much.

However, if you are a television or movie enthusiast you might find something that catches you’re eye and enjoy everything that comes with being in Brooklyn.
